Empowering a Community
Melissa Clark, a Marshall University 2016 graduate, is the youngest WV State Senate Elect representing District 5 (Cabell & Wayne counties). A miner's daughter, single mother, business advisor, children's teacher and advocate, yoga instructor, performance artist, adventurer, and writer, Melissa intends to help unite people through finding the similarities in needs and thought. They hope to uplift lower class West Virginians, identify fallacies in legislation and budgets, work to promote increased freedom among their constituents, reform public education initiatives, and fascilitate conversations through in-depth questions and research around community concerns. Much of Melissa's work is expressed through positive role modeling, active listening, proactive planning, and volunteering.

Despite Melissa's independent efforts, the most effective change will come from the community caring together!

Please email your testimonies where legislation has failed you, your family, or peers. I will share your community stories. Collectively we can find the pain points in our laws that may be binding us more than benefiting us.
Thank you.
